''passion for God, compassion for people''

What We Believe

The Scriptures (the Bible) is the verbally inspired Word of God and is the infallible rule for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3: 16; 2 Peter 1: 20,21; 2 Peter 3: 16)

There is One God who has revealed Himself in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

(Deuteronomy 6: 4; Matthew 28: 19; 2 Corinthians 13: 14; John 1: 18; John 14: 16, 26)

The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God; while on earth he was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, was crucified, rose again on the third day, and ascended to the right hand of God.

(Luke 1: 31-33; Hebrews 4: 15; John 20: 30; 1 Corinthians 15: 4; Acts 2: 32,33; Ephesians 1: 20,21)

Mankind has sinned (broken God's law) as is recorded in Genesis 3 and all humanity is under a nature inclined to commit sin, the end result of which is death.

(Romans 5: 12; Romans 7: 15-23; Romans 6: 23).

Salvation from sin is made available through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ; One receives new life through repentance and faith in Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection

(Acts 2: 38; Acts 3: 19; 1 John 2: 2; Ephesians 2: 8,9; Romans 5: 8-11; Romans 3: 22-24)

Water Baptism by immersion is an act of obedience on the part of one who chooses to follow Christ, which outwardly shows the inward reality of salvation which has already occurred in the life of the individual (Matt. 28: 19,20; Acts 2: 38; Acts 8: 36-39; Romans 6: 1-7)

The Lord's Supper (Communion) is a practice of commemorating and remembering the suffering and death of Christ, as well as the bringing into our present day all the benefits of his sacrificial death.

(Luke 22: 17-21; Acts 2: 42; Acts 20: 7; 1 Corinthians 11: 23-32)

The church is to be an agent by which God’s purposes are accomplished on the earth, and is to be the extension of Christ’s hands and feet in a local community and the world.

(Ephesians 1: 22,23)

The infilling or 'Baptism' in the Holy Spirit is an experience of empowerment in the life of the believer. The Holy Spirit also brings spiritual gifts to the church to build and edify one another

(Luke 24: 49; Acts 1:4,5,8; Acts 2: 4; Acts 10: 44-47; Acts 19: 1-6; 1 Corinthians 12: 8-10)

The believer is to grow in Christ-likeness and holiness, which means to separate oneself from evil. This is a process as well as a daily choice to identify oneself as belonging to Christ

(Hebrews 10: 14; Colossians 3: 1-14; Ephesians 4: 17-32; Galatians 5: 16-26; Hebrews 12: 14; 1 Peter 1: 13-16)

Healing is made available to the believer through the atoning death of Jesus Christ.

(Isaiah 53: 5; 1 Peter 2: 24)

The blessed hope that Jesus Christ will descend from heaven with a shout, and that all believers in Christ (first those who have died in Christ, followed by those still living) will meet him in the mid-air

(1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18)

There will be a final judgment in which all who have not received Christ will be judged according to their deeds (Revelation 20: 11-15)

There will be a new heavens and new earth where righteousness and justice will reign forever

(Revelation 21,22; 2 Peter 3: 13)
